Packs may be used to obstruct the nostrils for 24 hours in order to prevent this flow. The trauma of surgery might cause swelling of the lining of the nose, resulting in a sensation that the nose is blocked up. This feeling can last anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. Following rhinoplasty surgery, there is usually bruising and swelling, which should go away after 3-6 weeks.
You may experience some difficulty opening your eyes after surgery due to the swelling. This quickly improves after the next day.
